Community feedback wanted for development of Fred Gration Reserve Open Space Master Plan in Bass Coast Shire by 23 October 2022
Bass Coast Shire Council is seeking community feedback to help develop an Open Space Master Plan for Fred Gration Reserve.
Located in the heart of Coronet Bay, Fred Gration Reserve is the key recreational and community hub for the town. The busy Reserve features a community hall, BMX track, community garden, playground, circuit track, basketball court, storage sheds, a bocce area, an open space area with a social cricket pitch and sports goals.
Fred Gration Reserve Open Space Master Plan project aligns with council's strategy of creating an inclusive community that embraces its lifestyle and supports health and wellbeing
Community feedback wanted
Bass Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Michael Whelan said everyone who uses the Reserve, or has an interest in its future use, is invited to get involved in the consultation process. "We want to know how people use the Reserve now, and what they would like to see happen at the Reserve in the future," Cr Whelan said.
The community can provide feedback via a short online survey, at the upcoming drop-in sessions being held at the Reserve on Thursday, 13 October from 3.00pm to 4.00pm and 5.00pm to 6.00pm, or in writing to recreation@basscoast.vic.gov.au or PO Box 118, Wonthaggi 3995. Submissions need to be received by midnight on Sunday, 23 October.
The aim of the Master Plan is to recognise the important role the Reserve will play for the community over the next 10 years, as the town grows. Information gathered through this initial community consultation phase will be used to inform the draft Master Plan. For more information on the project please see the project at Fred Gration (Coronet Bay) Reserve Open Space Master Plan website or contact council's Recreation Team on 1300 BCOAST (226 278) or (03) 5671 2211 or email recreation@basscoast.vic.gov.au.
