Celebration of Multimedia In Gippsland
Gippslanders set to illustrate their talent at acclaimed IT festival
The Gippsland Diegesis Multimedia Festival is set to propel Gippsland into the information age. The multimedia festival includes an inspiring showcase of local talent from the fields of photography, digital animation, short films and website design.
The festival was created as the sister event of the annual Infogrames Diegesis Multimedia Festival in Melbourne. It aims to "inform, entertain and educate Victorians" about projects that are taking place within the information technology industry.
Incorporated into the festival is the interactive gallery and awards ceremony, two events that celebrate the development of multimedia across the southeast of Victoria. These events offer an opportunity for Gippslanders that are producing multimedia to see their work professionally presented, with a chance to receive accreditation and prizes for their effort.
The festival offers an insight into the multimedia industry while commending talent that may otherwise go unnoticed. The festival aims to inspire and motivate young people to consider employment pathways and opportunities in Multimedia and IT.
The Gippsland Diegesis Multimedia Festival comes to the West Gippsland Arts Centre, Warragul on August 27 & 28. The festival is a joint initiative of Education Centre Gippsland, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) and The Skillsnet Association Co-operative.
