Baw Baw Council allocates $70,000 in grants for eight community-led minor capital projects that enhance well-being and community engagement
Baw Baw Shire Council allocates nearly $70,000 in grants for eight community-led projects aligning with the Public Health and Wellbeing Plan. Recipients include various community groups for diverse improvements.
Baw Baw Shire Council is proud to announce the allocation of nearly $70,000 in grants funding to support eight minor capital works projects led by local community groups. The funding will be instrumental in bringing to life a diverse range of projects that have been carefully selected for their alignment with council's Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan and which will help community groups improve participation, inclusion and accessibility.

Grants recipients
Minor Capital Works grants recipients include:
- Dowton Park Recreation Reserve Committee of Management - Purchase and installation of aluminium bench and park seating ($5,000)
- Drouin Croquet Club - Renewal of floor covering in club room ($4,731)
- Ellinbank Public Hall Community Assets Committee - Purchase and installation of childproof fence to create a safe outdoor play space ($10,000)
- Jindivick Mechanics Institute Inc. - Upgrade electrical wiring and energy efficiency of hall ($10,000)
- Neerim-Neerim South Football and Netball Club - Replace the existing netball and tennis court fence ($10,000)
- Rokeby Reserves and Hall Committee Inc. - Strip, prepare and repaint the exterior walls of Rokeby Hall ($10,000
- Warragul Bowling Club - Extension of covered BBQ area to provide greater weather protection ($5,000)
- Willow Grove Recreation Reserve Committee of Management - Refit timekeeper room with new cupboards and shelving to safely store documents, record books and electrical equipment ($6,940)
Mayor of Baw Baw Shire Cr Annemarie McCabe said, This round of funding underscores our ongoing commitment to supporting projects that embody the council's vision for a vibrant and inclusive community. I applaud the community groups for their dedication and collaborative spirit. By working together, we are making tangible improvements in our Shire that will serve current and future generations."

Ms McCabe added, "This funding of nearly $70,000 is an investment in the physical and social fabric of Baw Baw Shire. We're proud to support our local leaders and volunteers who are bringing these valuable projects to life."
