Legendary Gippslander Beryl Morris meets Darren Chester at Wellington Shire Council citizenship ceremony
Darren Chester attended the Wellington Shire Council's citizenship ceremony on Australia Day, where he bumped into 97 year old Beryl Morris.
Local MP Darren Chester said Beryl who used to live in Combienbar received the citizen of year award in Bairnsdale 30 years ago."A love of community runs in the family with Beryl's daughter Christine being recognised in last year's Australia Day national honours list for her services to the community," Mr Chester said.

"These two women are perfect examples of legendary Gippslanders and dedication to their communities. Congratulations to all new Australians who were welcomed over the weekend and well done to the local Lions and Scouts for a well-run event." Mr Chester said.
