Local MP Darren Chester said the Gippsland Facilitator would continue to coordinate employment and training opportunities for the region with the program extended until 2025
Training and employment opportunities
Mr Chester said, "Employment Facilitator Luke Arber, will continue his great work in identifying gaps in our workforce and create suitable training and employment opportunities, throughout Gippsland there have been many challenges with the closure of Hazelwood Power Station, drought, bushfires and COVID 19 leading to unemployment and gaps in the workforce. This tailored approach will ensure job seekers in Gippsland are skilled in relevant fields of workforce shortage."
Delivering local jobs
Gippsland Employment Facilitator Luke Arber said the extension ensured he could continue to provide opportunities for job seekers and those looking to reskill. "Providing opportunities for locals to up-skill and retrain ensures a strong workforce in our region,"
"This extension means Gippslanders will be able to continue to access these opportunities and remain attractive to potential employers. I look forward to continuing to deliver the Local Jobs Program in Gippsland and welcome the opportunity to meet with industry and businesses." Mr Arber said.
