Bullock Island bridge replacement progressing well and well worth $5M funding from federal government
Federal government provided $5 million for the Bullock Island bridge replacement and associated road works which is part of the master plan for the popular island.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester said, "Providing safe access for heavy vehicles associated with the fishing industry and Gippsland Ports activities, along with recreational vehicles, led to the bridge replacement which is being managed by East Gippsland Shire Council."

Works to make a difference
Mr Chester also said, "At the same time, there governments been seawall replacement works, a new toilet block, car park sealing and other projects by the Shire to improve the experience for locals and visitors.
"Bullock Island has been an under-utilised community asset for decades and these works will make a real difference. It's good to see all levels of government working together to improve facilities for locals and the visitor economy." Mr Chester said.
