The guidelines have been released for the $280 million Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants program. Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester said the grants are designed to support bushfire impacted communities in their continued recovery.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester local organisations to begin preparing their applications and access additional resources available for the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants program
Making the most to resources
Mr Chester said, "The early release of the guidelines is an opportunity for communities to begin the application process and identify projects they would like to put forward. To assist applicants with the grant process the National Recovery and Resilience Agency is offering free support including workshops and webinars."
"This additional support will ensure our communities have the best chance possible to get projects funded and work underway. I encourage local organisations and community groups to attend workshops and webinars and make the most of these resources."
Apply for a grant
Mr Chester said the funding program would open July 22, 2021 and close September 2, 2021 with successful projects to be announced by the end of the year. "Community organisations, businesses and local councils can apply for grants of between $20,000 and $10 million," Mr Chester said.
"Projects will need to address social and economic recovery or resilience needs for the community and environment. There are a lot of great recovery projects underway and funded in our region and these grants will ensure more projects can happen throughout our bushfire affected communities."
