Neerim District Health Service Aged Care Facility gets $5M funding for upgrade from federal Community Development Grants Program
Morrison government's commitment to redevelopment and upgrade of the Neerim District Health Service Aged Care facility.
The Morrison Government is committed to supporting the growth of local communities with $5 million of funding for the redevelopment and upgrade of the Neerim District Health Service Aged Care Facility.
The Community Development Grants Programme has been established to support much-needed infrastructure that promotes stable, secure, and viable local and regional economies
Economic and social support
Federal Member for Monash, Russell Broadbent said this funding supports economic and social infrastructure for the long-term benefit of regional communities. "I have been working closely with the Neerim District Health Service Board and advocating for the urgent need for the upgrade of these facilities.
"The Neerim District Health Service Aged Care Facility is trusted by the community after years of faithful service to Neerim South and surrounds. I could not be prouder and more supportive of this local aged care facility. Aged care should be another stage in life lived to the full, with the help and support of government and family."
"This funding will provide a vital boost for our local communities, backing local jobs and economic growth while delivering lasting upgrades that will benefit residents for years to come." Mr Broadbent said.
Accessible aged care services
Neerim District Health Service Chairman, Sean Dignum, said the region has seen extraordinary population growth in the wake of the pandemic, ranging from young families to retirees. "This commitment of significant funding from the federal government is critical at this stage to ensuring Neerim Health can support its aged care residents and local community at a time when it's most needed," Mr Dignum said.
"All Australians are entitled to expect easily accessible, comprehensive and appropriate health and aged care services to be available to them, wherever they live. We greatly appreciate the long-term support provided by Member for Monash Russell Broadbent who has consistently campaigned for health and aged care services in the region." Mr Dignum said.
