Lakes Entrance slipway redevelopment will feature restored sheds, decking and upcoming food truck services
Darren Chester highlights the redeveloped Lakes Entrance slipway as a valuable asset for locals and visitors, showcasing restored sheds, new decking, and upcoming food truck services in the heart of town.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester says the redeveloped slipway site in Lakes Entrance will be an asset for locals and visitors. "About 20 years ago the Old Slipway site became vacant when a purpose-built facility was constructed at the Gippsland Ports yard in Lakes Entrance."

Site revitalisation progress
Mr Chester said, "Ever since then, we have waited for the funds to restore the site into something useful for the community. After securing grants from the previous federal government and the state government, the transformation of the facilities has taken shape in recent months."
"The old winch sheds have been restored by East Gippsland Shire Council, new timber decking installed and an area set aside for food trucks which will service locals and visitors in the months ahead."
"It's a terrific location in the centre of Lakes Entrance that is set to open before the Christmas rush, and is a good example of reactivating an old site with a new purpose in life," Mr Chester said.
