Council is seeking the community feedback for the public health and wellbeing plan draft to provide what the community needs
Vibrant communities
Baw Baw Shire Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan
Council noted the draft Baw Baw Shire Municipal Public Health & Wellbeing Plan 2021-2025, and endorsed public exhibition for a period of three weeks.Community Consultation is open until Thursday 2 September 2021.
Planning Application PLA0148/20 - 16 Shearmans Road, Darnum
Council moved to issue a Notice of Decision to Grant Planning Application Permit PLA0148/20 at 16 Shearmans Road, Darnum, for the use and development of a contractor's depot subject to the alternate conditions outlined in the meeting minutes.
Planning Application PLA0176/20 - 1855 Westernport Road, Ripplebrook
Council moved to issue a Notice of Decision to Grant Planning Application Permit PLA0176/20 at 1855 Westernport Rd, Ripplebrook, for the use and development of a Motel and Place of Assembly and alter access to a road in a Road Zone, Category 1 subject to conditions in the report.
3-5 Rollo Street Yarragon Draft Masterplan Development - Community Consultation
Council approved the release of the draft masterplan for 3-5 Rollo Street Yarragon to the community for a three week 'Have Your Say' consultation process.Community Consultation will commence Monday 6 September 2021 - Friday 24 September 2021.
Chemical Free Parks Trial Update
Council approved the continuation of the Chemical Free Parks program to provide a minimum of three chemical free parks in the following open space area
- Hearn Street Park, Drouin
- Queen Street Park, Warragul
- McGregor Park, Trafalgar
Response to general business motion, Baxter Park Pavilion upgrade, council moved an alternate motion with amended conditions.
Sporting Walk of Fame Nominations
Council moved to
- induct eligible candidates to the Sporting Walk of Fame as per the recommendations made in the nomination report.
- conduct a review of the current Sporting Walk of Fame guidelines.
- complete a Gender Impact Assessment in accordance with the Gender Equality Act 2020.
- hold an induction ceremony for the new inductees.
The Baw Baw Shire Sporting Walk of Fame was created in 1999 after a community committee was developed by then Baw Baw Shire Council.

- Roadside & Footpath Trading Policy Review
- Council approved the commencement of public consultation
- Urban Nature Strip Guidelines
Council adopted 2021 Urban Nature Strip Guidelines
Organisational Excellence
Chief Executive Officer - Employment and Remuneration Policy
Council in accordance with Section 45 of the Local Government Act 2020, adopted the Chief Executive Officer - Employment and Remuneration Policy.
Audit and Risk Committee
Council noted the June 2021 Audit and Risk Committee Chair Report, which updates Council on the activities of the Audit and Risk Committee between November 2020 and June 2021.
Limited attendance
In line with COVID-19 restrictions across Victoria, Council will be limiting attendance of its Council meetings. Continuing with the Wednesday 25 August 2021 Council Meeting:
- Only essential officers and Councillors will attend Council Meetings
- There will be no public access/gallery attendance at Council Meetings
Meetings will remain available to the public via live stream, and community submissions can be made in writing. The agenda for the next meeting will be available online the Friday prior to the meeting.
