South Gippsland Shire Council update early May 2022 - Community feedback on Draft Integrated Plans encouraged
In The Know is your fortnightly reminder of what Council is up to at the moment, have a look at what is going on and how you can get involved!
The council has been receiving great feedback from our community about our Draft Integrated Plans. There have been eight engagement sessions so far, with more to come. Our councillors and council staff have thoroughly enjoyed seeing you and hearing your thoughts on our draft plans, where you think the gaps are and what you think we have done right.

- Thursday 5 May: Town Hall Drop-in Session at Coal Creek Community Park and Museum, Korumburra
- Friday 6 May: Pop-up at Victorian Livestock Exchange Cattle Sale, Koonwarra Saleyards
- Sunday 8 May: Pop-up at Kongwak Market
- Saturday 14 May: Pop-up at Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival

Get techy, Get ready!
To help residents understand what apps are a must-have during an emergency, our Emergency Management team has organised some sessions at local libraries throughout May. To book your place at an event near you, please visit the 'Get Techy Get Ready' page or visit your local library.
Online events are virtual and highly interactive, where people come together to learn and be entertained on the web
Council meeting 470
The next Council Meeting will be held on May 18 at 2.00pm at Council Chambers, Leongatha. For all the details on council meetings, visit South Gippsland Shire Council meeting updates page. Council mail out
Council is doing a mail-out to just over 5,000 properties to ensure contact details are up to date. If you get a letter, please complete it and send it back to us.
Scam call
Council has received reports that there is someone calling residents asking to complete the Community Vision 2040 survey. This is not council. This is a scam. Please do not provide any personal information or answer any questions. Look out for your family and friends by letting them know.
Please be reminded that the council will not be calling you to complete the survey, beware of the scam call and do not provide personal data

Request for Tender
Council is seeking submissions from qualified companies and applicants for the RFT/324 Leongatha Municipal Office Refurbishment. Tenders open Saturday 7 May and close 2.00pm on Tuesday 31 May 2022. Documentation is available from council's e-Tendering Portal, just visit the South Gippsland eTender Box.
Electronic tendering or e-Tendering is a process for sending and receiving tenders by electronic means, rather than the old paper-based method
