Dog park community survey for Drouin, Warragul and Trafalgar on 31 October 2022
Baw Baw Shire Council is upgrading three dog parks in Drouin, Warragul, and Trafalgar, and to ensure the results are perfect for every pooch, community members are invited to help shape the improvement works.
The project aims to deliver a better user experience for dog park users and their four-legged friends and will address concerns raised through council's proactive maintenance program.
Your dogs will enjoy the freedom to play, socialise and learn with new off-leash dog parks in Drouin, Trafalgar and Warragul

The three dog parks included in the project are located at:
- Bellbird Park, Drouin
- Brooker Park, Warragul
- Hollydell Park, Trafalgar
Drainage improvements and additional gravel path works will be completed at each site as part of the project to improve surface conditions during the winter months and ensure residents can enjoy the parks all year round.

Have your say
Other improvements that have been identified for potential inclusion in the project scope are:
- Additional seating with shelter
- Agility equipment and obstacles
- More garden beds or multi-surfaced areas, such as sand or mulch
- Separate areas for active and passive dogs
Before the list of works is finalised council is inviting community members to consult their furry friends and ask them what they would like to see included in the project before providing their feedback via a short survey on council's Help make our dog parks perfect for every pooch website between Monday 10 October and 5pm Monday 31 October 2022.
The $370,000 Dog Park Improvement Project forms part of council's Capital Works Program which will see council invest $41.77 million in community infrastructure during the 2022/23 financial year.

Improvement and access
Mayor of Baw Baw Shire, Councillor Michael Leaney said, "From the day these dog parks opened they've been a huge hit with our community members, both the two-legged and four-legged kind, and this project is going to make them even better."
"The improvements will make sure they're accessible all year round and provide additional features that will really improve the user experience. I look forward to seeing the community's ideas come to life and I know that my golden retrievers, Tilly and Rupert, will have their tails wagging in anticipation of the projects being completed." Mayor Leaney said.
