Additional funding programs for Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program in Gippsland
Initiatives announced that are important to the Gippsland region and the increased investment from the government, helping with Gippsland growth.
The October Federal Budget included a number of new and important initiatives for the region, including two new regional funding programs totalling $1 billion, additional funding for the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, digital connectivity upgrades as well commitments for regional health, housing and skills.

Advocating for Gippsland
During these past few months, we have had a busy calendar advocating for Gippsland in the lead up to the State election. With a returned Andrews government now installed we would like to congratulate and thank the government for their significant commitments to our region, including:
- Up to $675 million for a New West Gippsland Hospital
- Up to $290 million for the Wonthaggi Hospital Stages 2 and 3
- $70 million for Ageing in Place in Maffra
- $20 million - Re-establishment of the State Electricity Commission head office in Morwell
We look forward to working with the government on our additional key priorities across the following areas:
- Freight, road and rail connectivity
- Tourism
- Education and skills
- Food and fibre advancement
