Gippsland Local Jobs Expo held at Moe Town Hall on 22 Nov 2023 was successful at connecting 350 job seekers with employers
Latrobe City Council hosted the Gippsland Local Jobs Expo, connecting more than 350 jobseekers with employers, training, and support services at Moe Town Hall.
Latrobe City Council was thrilled to host the Gippsland Local Jobs Expo in Moe last week which attracted a huge turnout of over 350 jobseekers and 35 local Employment Service Providers. Held at the Moe Town Hall on Wednesday 22 November, the event provided an opportunity for jobseekers to meet with employers and training providers to discuss available positions, apprenticeships and career pathways in Latrobe City and the surrounding region.

Job support event
Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Darren Howe said the Expo was a fantastic opportunity for council to support the community through helping local businesses and residents secure employment. "This is a great place for individuals looking for work to connect with local employers and discover what exciting career pathways exist locally," said the Mayor.
"Events like this are delivered as part of our commitment to attract new industries, create jobs, and enhance the economic resilience of our community, as we gradually work with the government and through Our Transition plan," she said.
Community job hub
West Ward Councillor, Bradley Law said the event provided a one stop for the community to explore employment opportunities. "The success of the first Expo, the second to be held within Latrobe City this year, provided an opportunity for individuals to locate information about employment and training opportunities in one location, making it easy for them to navigate the information available."
