Contribute to Creative Communities Strategy for Baw Baw Shire by 12 June 2023
Baw Baw Shire Council shares a virtual tour of the Baw Baw Culture and Connection Precinct Stage One, encouraging locals to support the funding campaign for the Library and Learning Centre.
To support a vibrant and connected arts and culture sector in Baw Baw, a draft Creative Communities Strategy has been developed and is now open for community consultation. Through the Strategy, the council aims to create better communities, places where stories are shared, and inspiration is found. "Creativity is at the heart of all our communities," says Mayor of Baw Baw Shire Cr Annemarie McCabe.

Inclusive creative synergy
Ms McCabe said, "Arts and culture is for everyone and it is our role to connect, inspire, and provide opportunities to support that creativity. This draft strategy aims to deliver on our commitment to contribute to the arts to support a healthy thriving and sustainable community."
"It celebrates our community's cultural strengths and the people at the heart of them. Importantly, it sets out a clear framework that will support Government, industry and community to work together to ensure a vibrant and creative Baw Baw," says Cr McCabe.
Creative communities
To ensure the draft strategy supports the creation of memories, connection, joy and colour in the lives of all residents, every community member is invited to review the Strategy and share their thoughts, ideas and feedback by completing a short online survey. Community submissions will be welcomed until 5:00 pm on Monday 12 June.
In addition to this open community feedback, council will also engage key stakeholder groups, the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee, and Government agencies to participate in a targeted consultation process.
