South Gippsland Shire Council meeting snapshot - 17 February 2021
South Gippsland Council meeting minutes and agendas.
The safety of the community and staff and the continuation of vital services remain the council's highest priority. The purpose of this council meeting is to present the Road Management Plan for council's consideration and determination.
The key updates in the plan relate to the routine inspection frequency and methodology, along with how council manages identified defects on roads and road related assets
Draft road management plan 2022
Council adopted the Road Management Plan 2022 and will place a notice in the Government Gazette on Thursday 3 March and publish it on council's website.
Grant Applications
Council adopted the grant applications for the 2021/22 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund including for:
- Korumburra Showgrounds Changerooms Upgrade Project
- Recreation Reserves Oval Lighting Upgrade Project (Fish Creek and Meeniyan)
- Loch Bowls Club Synthetic Green Project
Councillors acknowledged the great work and collaboration of Officers and the Community in preparing these projects, and the importance of community sport in our community.
Proposed Acquisition
The part 69 and 71 Commercial Street, Korumburra, council endorsed the proposed acquisition for Korumburra's Little Commercial Street Upgrade. For the proposed Sale - 630 Mardan Road, Koorooman, council resolved to commence the statutory procedure to sell 630 Mardan Road, Koorooman to the adjoining land owners for a cattle underpass. Customer focused organisation
Council Code of Conduct, council unanimously adopted the Councillor Code of Conduct. Councillors spoke about the process of developing the Code, and then signed the Code publicly in front of the gallery.
Appointment Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee 2022, council appointed independent Audit and Risk Committee Member, Mr Chris Badger, as Chair of the Committee from February 2022 to February 2023.
