Latrobe City kindergarten enrolments for 2025 will open on 1 May 2024 with open day on 7 May 2024
Latrobe City Council's 2025 three/four-year-old kindergarten enrolments open May 1, 2024. Children turning three/four by April 30, 2025, are eligible. Mayor Darren Howe urges enrollment for social, emotional, and academic benefits.
Latrobe City Council three and four-year-old kindergarten enrolments for 2025 will open on Wednesday 1 May 2024. If your child turns three or four-years-old before 30 April 2025 they can enrol in kindergarten. Mayor of Latrobe City Council, Councillor Darren Howe encourages families to enrol their children in kindergarten when they are eligible, to access the many benefits available to them.
Enrolments for 2025 three year and four year old kinder will open 1 May 2024, and close 30 June, the online 2025 kinder registration link will be available from 1 May, enhancing children's social, language, emotional, literacy, and numeracy skills
Kindergarten benefits highlighted
Councillor Darren Howe said, "Attending kindergarten has many benefits for your children, helping to improve social skills, language development, emotional skills, as well as literacy and numeracy skills."
"Parents and families will also benefit from their children attending kindergarten, as it provides the opportunity to meet other families, make connections within the community, and can provide access to other community services. Council offers many wonderful kindergarten facilities, run by friendly and experienced staff. Come along to see the facilities on May 7," said the Mayor.
Open days and registration
The Victorian State Government also announced that from 2023 both three-year-old and four-year-old programs will be free* and therefore there will be no cost to families. Council will be offering 5 hours per week for three-year-old kinder, and 15 hours per week for four-year-old kinder.

Those unable to visit the open day can view kindergarten's virtually on Council's website. If enrolling in a long day care kindergartens please check with the service regarding fee structure.
