Accommodation operators from across the region will converge on Buchan on November 16 for STAY, the inaugural East Gippsland Accommodation Expo.

Joining accommodation industry
This event is particularly relevant for people in agriculture who want to diversify their income streams and engage in agri-tourism. "Many operators have endured a great deal and we want to give them access to services and information that would normally require travelling out of the area or spending a long time researching," Mayor Cr Mark Reeves said.
"We are also encountering individuals in the region who are interested in providing accommodation on their property. This event has been created to address the significant interest from the community to participate in the accommodation industry." Cr Reeves said.
Hosting with Heart
The event will attract attendees from across East Gippsland Shire and will provide useful information for people at any stage of their accommodation business journey - from the planning or development phase right through to how to be a great host or create an award-winning business.
East Gippsland accommodation providers have encountered numerous hurdles over the last five years. Whilst the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have extended well beyond the region, few areas also endured a drought and bushfires leading up to the pandemic.
This event will also reinvigorate existing operators in readiness for what is expected to be the region's first uninterrupted peak season in a number of years. Presenters will include keynote speaker Jen Clark who presents the "Hosting with Heart" podcast and website.
Register for the event
Jen will share knowledge of her own accommodation experience and how she turned her passion into a business which inspires. A presentation from the people behind award-winning business model Wander will also be a feature.
Wander is an eco pod accommodation service that reconnects guests with nature and invites them into the story of the local community. Attendees can also talk to a range of exhibitors throughout the day. Registrations are open for this event so act quick to reserve your place on the day.
